We publish below some steps of an interesting interview with Dr Klatz:

What inspired you to start in the field of antiaging medicine?

A good question. When I was in medical school, I was very interested in technology and the future of health care. I'm always interested in new discoveries: I want to understand where things are going. Since the days of the Egyptians, and probably before, the medicine is interested in the longevity and the elimination of degenerative processes that lead to chronic disease and ultimately death. Thus was born the embryo of what became the movement "anti-aging medicine."
In 1992 I founded the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, which has grown from 12 physicians to be an international company with 26,000 physicians and scientists in 110 countries around the world.

We define the term "anti-aging medicine"?

When I coined the term "anti-aging medicine" in the early 1990s, the definition has been, and still is: everything that has to do with early diagnosis, prevention, treatment of aging. This is a rather broad definition if you think about it, because the sports medicine is anti-aging because it slows down the degenerative process of aging, mammography is anti-aging because detecting cancer early enough means to save someone's life. Vitamins are anti-aging, because they help maintain a healthy metabolism and adequate nutrition. And so on ...

What projects are in the pipeline at the moment?

It 's really a very exciting time. There are some researchers who have said that in Russia, working on intercellular antioxidant, are able to stop aging in laboratory mice. Could be the basis of a new method to significantly alter the aging process on human beings, working together with telomeres and telomerase.
But the stem cell research has grade importance at this time and so genetic engineering.
Every day is a miracle, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine has one goal: to make this information available to the public and to bring doctors to use these technologies in time to save the life of the people.

If there is a book that people should choose first, what would it be and why?

In my opinion, is "The Anti-Aging Revolution". It 's really a culmination of years and years of experience of hundreds of doctors in the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Explain how to start an anti-aging program, providing all the basic information you need to do it. I recommend this book to everyone because you only have one body and it is worth to preserve it.
