A positive outlook on life can make you a person with a more healthy diet
. And ' what emerges from a study in which researchers found that women who were more optimistic were able to follow the guidelines of healthy eating, and when they were followed in the path is when they chose to make changes to your style life of their own. 

Melanie Hingle , of the University of Arizona (Arizona, USA) , and colleagues studied data collected from the Women's Health Initiative (WHI ) , focusing on two groups of women : a group of 13,645 participants who had been part of a program to improve your diet , especially reducing the intake of fats ; and 20,242 subjects who were not asked to make changes to their diet. The researchers assessed whether the levels of optimism of women 's health overall diets of participants at baseline and one year later. 

The team observed the optimism positively influences the diet . In particular, measured on a scale from zero to 110 (where higher numbers indicating better diet quality ) women with the highest optimism improved their diet by 1.8 points while those with a lower degree of optimism have improved their diet by 1.4 points . The differences were considered statistically significant. In addition, the researchers observed that women are less optimistic often less healthy diets than those who have more positive attitudes .



"People who want to make changes in lifestyle , such as quitting smoking , eating better or exercising more, should focus on the factors that characterize and skills can help," said Health. Another strategy to be adopted with success is finding a way suited to cope with unpleasant emotions and stress instead of eating junk food , drinking alcohol or smoking.
