What are the causes that lead to increased production of free radicals?

Some antioxidants (eg enzyme systems catalase and superoxide dismutase) are endogenous, that are produced by the body which are an integral part. Others, however, such as vitamins C and E, are exogenous, ie they must be introduced from the outside, for example with a proper diet and with the integration

In our body, therefore, there is a delicate balance between production (external or internal) and "disposal" of free radicals (by antioxidants systems).

The disruption of this balance causes the onset of cell damage which, if severe and protracted, leading to an acceleration of the process of aging and the onset of many diseases.

In light of these considerations we can define now with more accuracy oxidative stress as a pathological condition caused by the presence in the body of excessive amounts of free radicals and other reactive oxygen species, attributable to excessive production of these agents and / or at a reduced efficiency of the physiological antioxidant defense systems.

It is evident that it is not possible to have an exact idea of ​​oxidative stress and, in particular the amount of free radicals produced and the degree of efficiency of the defense systems, if you do not evaluate both the components which face each other continuously in the body, ie that the pro-and anti-oxidant.

Arises from these simple considerations, the diagnostic concept of winning global assessment of oxidative stress, now made possible by the new system Evolvo FRAS 4, through the execution of two simple tests, d-ROMs test and BAP test.
