Cisticare, natural remedy for cystitis

What is Cystitis:

Cystitis is an inflammation of the urinary bladder, which may present with urethritis, though extends in the urinary tract. The cystitis is caused by bacterial infections.

The cystitis mainly affects women because their urethra is shorter (about 5 cm) compared to that of men (about 16 cm) and then is higher for women, the risk of contamination by faecal bacteria which can more easily go up the urethra to the bladder.It is estimated that about 25% of adult women suffer from cystitis at least once a year. The incidence of cystitis increases with age: it is very low up to 20 years, then increases, affected by frequency of sexual activity and pregnancy, lasting until after menopause. The probability of recurrent cystitis grows with the increase of the number of previous cases, while decreases the longer was the interval between a cystitis and the other.

Risk factors for cystitis in women can be different: age, sex (favoring the passage of pathogenic bacteria in the vagina, urethra, and then finally into the bladder), constipation, use of the diaphragm and spermicidal creams.The risk factors for humans are due to hypertrophy of the prostate or inflammatory states.

Symptoms of Cystitis:

Cystitis is characterized by the following symptoms of irritation:

pollakiuria: temporary or permanent increase in the number of micturitions during 24 hours, accompanied by a reduction of the volume drained for each act;

dysuria: difficulty urinating intermittent or continuous urination can be slow and not very abundant, this requires too much effort, the muscles appear contracts and the jet might change in the volume or in the form (deviant, devious, etc..) or stop suddenly and involuntarily;

burning or pain during urination;

urinary urgency: painful spasm followed by the urgent need to urinate;

cloudy urine, sometimes foul-smelling;

hematuria and / or pyuria
, or the presence of blood and / or pus in the urine.

Cystitis usually does not cause fever if the temperature rises it is possible that the infection has spread to the upper urinary tract.

Causes of Cystitis:

Under normal conditions the urine contained in the bladder is sterile. However, there are conditions that make the body vulnerable to bacterial attack. Bacteria can reach the bladder by ascending (rising along the urethra after issue with feces), down (down from the kidney) or blood.

The cystitis can then occur due to the presence of numerous predisposing conditions:

weakening of the immune system as a result of antibiotic therapy, irregular supply or excessive stress;

physical or mental fatigue;

low or hygiene;

use of tampons;

use of the diaphragm and spermicidal creams that reduce the vaginal acidity favoring bacterial contamination;

pants or underwear too tight;

sexually transmitted diseases;

sexual intercourse;

use of the catheter;

stenosis or urethral stricture;

presence of foreign bodies or abnormal bladder (stones or tumors);

diverticula;

prostatic hypertrophy;

diabetes: the presence of glucose in the urine (glycosuria) promotes bacterial growth.

Prevention of cystitis:

Helpful hints for the prevention of cystitis:

drink plenty of water;

reduce the consumption of coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages, spicy foods;

urinate frequently;

not long retain urine;

use comfortable clothes;

use white linen of cotton;
