Google and Apple had recently come together to give life to Calico, a joint venture that will focus on health and wellness.

The CEO of Calico, as well as one of its investors, will Arthur Levinson, the chairman of Apple. Mission? Extend the length and quality of human life.

"The disease and aging affect our families. With a life expectancy longer, thanks to advances in medicine and biotechnology , can improve millions of lives," said Larry Page , co-founder and CEO of Google.

Calico will focus on the challenge in fact linked to aging and associated diseases.
