Supplements of Vitamins

There are many factors that contribute to good health: among these, proper nutrition, the practice of regular physical activity, a lifestyle proper (sleep enough hours, not smoking, not abusing alcohol, avoid stress , limit pollution and pollutants ...) and a valuable addition.

Despite this awareness increasingly difusa among the population, in Europe a quarter of hospital patients is malnourished. As surprising especially when referring to Western countries that consider the problem of malnutrition in developing countries.

Undoubtedly the economic crisis has prompted consumers to review their food purchases and institutions to intervene on public spending, including the health. But nutrition plays an important role in maintaining health or its recovery and, as such, can not be ignored the positive economic effects on the individual and on society. This should suggest to doctors and practitioners a different attitude.

In a recent study presented on 14 July at at Health Economics Congress in Milan (12-15 July 2015) the researchers came to the conclusion that giving patients nutritional supplements positively impacts on the costs of the health system; We quantified the savings is around 12% of the costs of hospital care, amounting to 170 billion euro per year in Europe alone.
Dietary supplements can play an important role and be employed in the treatment paths, in the case of nutritional deficiencies or altered needs of the person (eg. In pregnancy, lactation, menopause or in elderly people), as well as in the prevention, for the maintenance of a good health condition.
