Researchers from over 100 countries have achieved an integration of millions of national data, to release for the first time the official publication of data on causes of death for 188 countries of the world.
The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) team in 2013 has completed a systematic analysis of the data and found that life expectancy overall for both sexes increased from 65.3 years in 1990 to 71.5 years in 2013, and for women is slightly higher than men. The female life expectancy at birth increased by 6.6 years and male life expectancy of 5.8 years.
 
Project researchers, analyzing the trends seen over the past 23 years, consider that in 2030, life expectancy is 85.3 years overall female and male life expectancy is 78.1 years.
 
The number of people dying of certain conditions, such as heart disease, increases if the population increases, but decreases in mortality rates for specific age: this is a sign of progress. Death rates for most cancers, including: breast cancer, cervical cancer and colon cancer, have declined, while unfortunately increased in proportion: pancreatic cancer, kidney cancer, lymphoma and non- Hodgkin.
