By 2050 about 80% of the elderly live in fact in the least developed countries and WHO data show that since 2005, life expectancy in countries like France and Japan is over 80 years, and is also grown in most states poor as Chile, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
However, there are major differences. And between different states (on the one hand there is Japan with the highest life expectancy at 82.2 years and Africa with less than 40 years), both within the same country. In the U.S., for example, the wealthier classes live on average 20 years longer than those disadvantaged.

According to scientists, population growth, which led to the world's population to reach 7 billion, will continue for 30-40 years. '' The population is expected to stabilize at 8-9 billion over the next 30-40 years - explains Gesano the CNR.

On the contrary, a good healthy and attentive to these same issues, can add up to an additional 8.4 years (87 years) for men, and more than 4 for the woman (89 years old).

In addition, 49.4% of the causes of death is foreseeable months or years in advance. It can be calculated that, on average, the execution of periodic medical examinations gives an average of 4-6 years of life, and many more to those (it is estimated over a third) that incur diseases early and, thanks to the controls, identify them in time .
