It 'easy to maintain the principles of healthy living if partner does the same.

Jane Wardle, from University College London (UK), and colleagues analyzed data on 3722 couples, married or cohabiting, and over the age of 50, who were enrolled in the Longitudinal Study of Ageing. Individuals who have had more success in healthy behaviors and good habits (proper nutrition, regular exercise, no smoking...) have been involved from the partner, who made the same choices in life.
Among women who smoked in the past, 50% managed to stop if the partner did the same, compared to 17% of women who have managed to quit smoking not having partners, and 8% with partners regular smokers.

The study's authors argue that: "Men and women are more likely to make a positive change in health behavior if their partner does the same at the same time, the effects are even greater than if the partners had always had healthy habits.
Involve your partner in changing habits and behavior can help to improve the results. "
