There is no denying: the technology has facilitated many things. But, as with so many good things, an excess can have negative consequences. Today people use technology (smartphones, tablets and laptops) for almost everything, work, social life, leisure ... there's hardly a time of day when they are not connected. We live in the first era of connectivity.

The technology, however, has made it less active people, and causes a more rapid aging. Let's see how:

1. Reduces sleep
Some studies have shown that the use of tablet, smartphone or computer before bedtime can disrupt the natural sleep rhythm. A study published last year by the Brigham and Women's Hospital concluded that the use of these devices to emit light suppresses melatonin levels, making it more difficult to fall asleep and get a restful sleep. One solution: make your bedroom a tech-free zone and create a ritual that would include the way your technological devices before bedtime.

2. It damages the neck
In 2014, the researchers found that secure the phone weight puts pressure on the neck, creates problems of posture and causes stress to the spine. The study's author, Kenneth Hansraj, says it is important to keep the neck straight and to bring the phone in line with the eyes.

3. It hurts your eyes
Look at the screen of the technological devices can contribute to problems such as dry eyes, blurred vision and headaches. Also, if the display is small, squeezing his eyes several times during the day, eye strain and promotes wrinkles around the eyes.

It may be useful to set a larger font so you do not have to strain your eyes to read and take a break from the screen every 20 minutes for about 20 seconds (or more) and focus on something far away. Or better yet, get up and take a ride.

4. It can affect memory
Remember the good old days when they remembered all the friends' phone numbers by heart? These days, it's a miracle if we do not forget our own, thanks to the contacts stored on the phone. In addition, the use of a GPS to navigate, discourages memory and sense of direction. We rely less and less on our brain.

A study by McGill University found that people who use spatial navigation (landmarks to remember) to reach a destination, the hippocampus had a volume higher than people who used a GPS. The hippocampus is the part of the brain responsible for memory.

Another study found that taking pictures can affect your memory. Researchers at Fairfield University invited the participants to test to go to a museum of art and observe some objects without taking a picture - and then look at other objects, causing photo. The researchers found that memories were weaker for items that were simply photographed, than those not photographed, but carefully observed.

We try to live a few days without electronic devices and trust of our brain.
