Numerous studies in recent years suggest health benefits for those who live in urban greenery.
Omid Kardan, a researcher at the University of Chicago (Illinois, USA), and colleagues analyzed the relationship between the presence of green space (trees, parks, ...) to Toronto (Canada) and self-perception about their general health by 31,000 men and women, and incidence of heart disease, diabetes and mental disorders.

After adjustment for confounding factors, the team found that people who live in neighborhoods with a higher density of trees, they report a significantly higher perception of health and have better cardiometabolic conditions.

The study authors say that: "We find that having more than 10 trees in one block, on average, better health perception, and is comparable to an increase in annual personal income of $ 10,000 or to be seven years younger. Not only: the presence of green space, decrease the cardio-metabolic conditions in a manner comparable to an increase in the individual annual income of $ 20,000 or to be 1.4 years younger. "
